Hello people from GPSSerial!
I'm from Germany and I study electrical engineering at Technical University in Dortmund. For an extracurricular project, I am trying to develop an application for the iPhone which communicates to a microcontroller via the serial port of the iPhone's dock connector. Since there is almost no documentation to be found on the internet, I thought you might have a basic set of knowledge as to how the serial port is being addressed internally using C or Objective-C and how this low-level programming can be bound to a GUI in order to improve its usability for non-techies. I would be very grateful to hear from you, even if it was just a hint or some keywords to google for as I can't seem to get hold of something useful to start with. Thank you in advance.
Kindest regards,
Fridtjof Sterna
