Forgot to ask, when will xGPS itself be open sourced?

Thanks a lot for this update, that’s is great! I live at TAHITI, there’s no map to download inside xGPS Manager for me, I’d like to know if it’s not possible to get the googlemaps maps inside xGPS?
    Thanks

  6. Phui says:

Didn’t work in osx environment, launch and quit itself

  7. Mathieu says:

What OS X version do you have?

  8. MMN says:

I have OSX version 10.5.8 and 1.1.5 version is not working for me. I tried 1.1.0 release, but though I am able to search for the location, double click on it just shows nothing. The grey map remains grey.

  9. MMN says:

I have downloaded the source code and built the jars using 1.5 JDK and OSX. I have successfully started the tool (no calss version errors happens). I think the build has to be reposted?

  10. Mathieu says:

Sure I made a mistake. I compiled xGPS manager for Java 1.6. A new build will be posted soon.

  11. chris says:

Yes, I’m having the same problem on OS X. The program launches and then quits. Thanks for fixing this!

  12. YhG says:

  14. Patrick says:

Same here just like MMN. Can you please fix this soon?

  15. Blue Mint says:

This version 1.1.5 works just fine for me. I’m so glad the gray map issue is resolved.

    I’m on Snow Leopard 10.6.1.

I noted, however, Finder’s Preview Column shows it’s version 1.0.0, although it says 1.1.5 in the App itself.

  16. Rolf says:

Why can’t you release the GPSSerial source code so I/we can try to make it work like you promises on the iGPS360 webpage (tomtom/navigon)!? The race is over now with bluetooth gps support from other people, please release the source!

    Thanks, Rolf

  17. Mary says:

Hey I downloaded the xgps but it’s not talkin to me…. N I want to download the new up date but i dnt know how!!! Pls help

  18. dan says:

This version seems to only work with mac osx 10.6 or snow leopard. The problem it seems is the manager is complied with 1.6 version of java not 1.5.

The standard version of java on 10.5 is version 1.5. If you switch to the java version 1.6 on 10.5 it still does not work.

The source code is in the downloads section of the main website under source. Is anybody able to compile a osx version for java 1.5 and post a link?

  19. törst says:

it worked for a couple of minutes, than it crashed while downloading (“parts of the map could not be downloaded”) now it doesn’t display any maps at all, if I use the search function it says I should verify my internet connection… i did, google earth works flawless… I’m on a 10.6 MBPro, I downloaded xGPS Manager again but still… no maps (just gray), no search… transferring maps from iphone works though but again, no map is displayed when “show offline map” is clicked

  20. tran thang says:

  21. Mathieu says:

  22. tran thang says:

it’s working now, tks very much

  23. LORE says:

esta mui padre q pensaran en esto

  24. Hias says:

    hi,

could we please have a working xGPS manager for OS X 10.5.8?? I am not going to go to Snowleo anytime soon.
1.1 stays grey (the map window) and 1.1.5 quits during startup.

  26. Jose Shivers says:

Fantastic work going on here. Is there a fix for Mac OSX 10.4.11 as none of the versions of download manager work as far as I can tell. Wish I could offer some practical help but my programming skills are non existent. I am grateful for the hard work you guys do though.

  27. Aaron says:

Yes, we need a working Version of xGPS Manager for Mac OS X 10.5.8, I have the same issue as Cierra.

  28. Aaron says:

Just found out that since I am running a 32bit PPC G5 on MAC OS X 10.5.8, Apple has chosen not to support Java 1.6 which means I am forever stuck on Java 1.5. This explains why the new xGPS Manager will not work on Cierra’s or my computer. It would be cool if the developer created a version of the jar files that supported Java 1.5.

  29. Tiff says:

Has anyone managed to build the source on 10.5.8? I tried but am getting errors..

    BUILD FAILED
/…/xGPS/build.xml:19: The following error occurred while executing this line:
/…/xGPS/build.xml:105: Warning: Could not find file /…/xGPS/deployFiles/MacOSX/Info.plist to copy.
