I think that the video link is broken…others finding this as well?

  2. Tim says:

For me it works just fine.

I can’t wait for the release

  3. Brian Marocco says:

can you copy and paste the youtube link for me PLEASE!!!

  4. Brian Marocco says:

    Thanks Tim!

  5. Vik says:

You’re great!! Can’t wait for the release!!!

  6. Kevin says:

So we will be able to search for places offline (without 3g or edge connection)? I thought I read that it would take up too much space…

That would be awesome if that is the case, really looking forward to the release.

  7. Kevin says:

Nevermind, just read that it wont be happening (at least in this version)… still looking forward to see what you guys have done.

Maybe have the ability to save specified routes while you are in a wifi mode, and be able to view these offline at any time? That might work just as well, unless you already have something better planned.

  8. Alex says:

    YEs Yes Yes !!!!
    Oh My god !

This is awsome… thank you very very much for the wonderful work…

Do you already have Brazilian Portuguese translator ? I’d be very pleased to translate for you…

  9. John says:

It is getting better and better, hope the the delay for igps360 will be fix. And if there will be an automatic recalculating route when i miss a turn that would be just wonderful. bye bye garmin ;-)

  10. Merio says:

    /quote john!!!

    Recalculating route is necessary!!!

Is a good job, by now with a little delay we could have the indications turn-byturn. and vocal indication!!!! :) :):)

In 3month we could attend the “iTOMTOM” :D :D:D

  11. Merio says:

Search offline works? If not is flop…

  12. Mathieu says:

    So it’s flop ;-)

  13. Steven says:

Hi im a bit confused about ur software and would like to know a few things

Ive got an iphone 3g and dont have ur gps module, is it possible to use your software without the need of an internet connection? Whenever i have no connection the gps will stop working. How do i get it to work? Do i need to download the maps first to be able to use the gps without an internet connection?

Your app is looking really great hopefully in the next couple months everything will be fine-tuned

  14. Merio says:

    Oh nooooooooouuu….

    it’s flop??? sigh sigh…sniff…sniff.. :’( :’( :’(

  15. Merio says:

    And maps are “enormous”… sigh…

(Thank you so much for work and answers!!!)

    (sigh)

  16. Scubix says:

Great work, it is definately going in the right direction with this software. However, it is still useless with the iGPS360 module because of the 3 to 5 seconds delay. Turn-by-turn navigation needs to work realtime, not with such a big delay.

Are you actively working on this bug/delay and is there any ETA on a fix ?

  17. Brian Marocco says:

    Mathieu-
As of today are you still looking at a 6th release of this update?

  18. Brian Marocco says:

    Merio-
I am confused at your attitude. I have downloaded maps for 3/4 of Colorado at different zoom levels. The entire Denver region I have at 17, 16, 15, and 14 and my total map size 240MB, it is a perfect size. I guess you should only download what you need and then use it…This program is great and mind you that he is doing it for free, FREE. I guess I just really appreciate what is going on here and am willing to use some of my iPhone’s memory to make it work.

  19. Mathieu says:

@Bryan: Yes the 6th is still the right schedule. However I’m still a little bit worried about the translation. I have two languages which are still not translated. Anyway we will release this new version on Friday, with or without these translations (Hebrew and Russian).

  20. Brian Marocco says:

since I speak neither I am really excited as we are taking a road trip into the CO mountains…this better not get me lost:)

  21. Steven says:

Theres no way to use this without an internet connection on the 3g?

  22. leopod says:

Wow et rewow. Désole de ne pas avoir participé avant, mais c’est vraiment génial tout ça. J’attends avec grande impatience les driving directions!
En direct de mon pays qui n’est pas un pays c’est l’hiver.

  23. Steven says:

Sorry i worked it out wow this app is great cant wait for voice navigation

The only thing i could ask for is if you could use maps other than google cos their directions arent very good and their maps arent updated here in australia but so far so good

  24. Sniperx says:

You may have a new problem. I can’t download any maps with Manager or view ay new maps through XGps while connected to the net. It looks like google changed their maps YET again……

  25. Steven says:

I can view my downloaded maps fine works very well offline its actually much faster than with the net cos it doesnt need to load the map
Have u got the latest manager?

  26. Steven says:

Edit: just checked mine and looks like i can only view my downloaded map and not with the net also

  27. Sniperx says:

I’m running the latest X and manager. I’m also running Gps360 and FW 2.2. My pod is only charging to 88 though running 2.2 and charging the Gps360, but will get full 100 when using original apple plugins….

  28. Merio says:

    @Brian Marocco,
I appreciate the good job and i recognize that xgps is free and very helpful!!! I wrote is not too important FOR ME because i need the entire Italy on iphone only with maximum zoom ( My country is full of tiny streets! :-) ).

At 17 zoom i have 170gb of map…. Do you understand?

And I say again GOOD WORK AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE APPLICATION!!

  29. abonifacy says:

Mathieu, I believe I could help with Russian translation. Please email (I hope you can see my address) and explain what should be translated and what’s a format.

  30. steven says:

Mathieu, with the new update coming soon will the driving directions work while offline? I know that when i was on 2.1 i had maps offline and driving directions worked while offline

  31. Moshe says:

    Hi,
I tried today the GPX logging and it worked but with some issues.
Whenever I got a call or I closed the application the log seems to start from scratch meaning I got the data only the the last few minutes of my treck.(since I got a phone call few minutes before stopping.

Am I doing something wrong ? or this feature will be improved in the next versions ?
    Thanks
    Moshe

  32. Steven says:

Will the new update support offline directions?

  33. Plak says:

Mathieu, are you interested in a Greek translation?

  34. Mathieu says:

@Plak, sure if it is officially supported by Apple. Just contact us http://xwaves.net/index.php?inc=contact

  35. Marcelo says:

Mathieu, I offer myself as spanish translator if you need one.

  36. Alex says:

I heard about a new GPS app for IPhone that will be launched.

I don’t know if I should post it here.
I like xGPS a lot, by the freedom we have with it (download maps, etc…)… but at the same time I think it is interesting to see what the others products have to see what is possible and viable to implement…

The name is G-Map, and the link for it’s site is:
    http://www.xroadgps.com/Maps/GMapforiPhone/tabid/2463/Default.aspx

It is NOT FREE. And will be released soon.
It has a lot of features (at least it claims to have) that xGPS may implement on a future.

  37. sherif says:

Good work guys…just an idea…what not using the same maps used by the navigation programs on PPC like IGO my way, Tom Tom,Sygic7…my country map ( Egypt ) with all details and small streets information is only ( 5 ) megabyte…why not using the same format and the same idea insted og Google wich not support alot of informations…would you please refere to the mintioned softwares they are working GREAT but on the PPC…would you please do something like that

  38. Merio says:

    …like smaller maps for example…

  39. Steven says:

Holy shit alex nice find that looks awesome its a fully fledged gps navigation software rly interested to see what its like as far as i can tell it definately can rival that of tomtom and it looks like their company do make car navigation devices so this looks great.

currently i am using xGPS maybe with the release of this software it may push them to release their updates faster but by the looks of it i mighy have to swap no offence to u guys at xgps

  40. Terry says:

Well, if they are going to sell G-Map in the app store it probably will not support an external gps receiver. Probably only for 3g phones.

Mathieu, Will we be able to use the xGPS maps manager to download topographical maps from say google or other sources in the future?

Thanks for all your hard work.

  41. Steven says:

Yes your right and i dont think it will be allowed in the appstore as ive heard its already been
In there once and got removed shortly after. And i doubt it will have voice navigation

Theres another app called 3dvu which was supposed to come out this month but havent heard anything so far

  42. Brian Marocco says:

Needless to say I am a bit excited about this release. Mathieu I just check the Roadmap site and it says the release is in 5 hours…is that true or should I expect to see it on Saturday here in the US?????

  43. Mathieu says:

It will be on Saturday afternoon in Europe. So it means that it will be saturday morning in the US.

  44. Brian Marocco says:

great thanks again for the hard work and great app!

  45. Kruisko says:

    go on mathieu. great work!!

and take the G-Map-app as a source of inspiration ;-)
I don’t think it is compatible with first generation iPhone.
“GPS supported in iPhone 3G”, thats what they say…

    thanx again.

  46. alyns says:

THX !!!!!!!!!! .itsa a good app. all support from Romania.

  47. Steven says:

3dvu looks like another interesting app they specialize in mobile gps and they say it should be coming out this month. Theyve got a logo of the iphine on their websife under supported devices

I think xgps is good but the fact that it uses google maps is the thing that is really stopping it. Surely it shouldnt be too hard to implement something like tomtom

  48. Kevin says:

Sounds like they are trying to get those apps in the appstore… which if I know anything about apple – isn’t going to happen. Those programs would be nice, but they would need to find some other way to sell it for jailbroken phones.

  49. Steven says:

Yeah i don’t think theyll be able to get in the appstore either i already know that G-Maps was in the appstore in november but got taken out shortly after and i presume this was by apple. They state on their website that it will be coming in mid December so we shall see. I also sent them an email about it so I should know more about it soon.

3DVU looks good also but I think it will take a while for this app to be released and it doesn’t support a wide variety of countries. xGPS is good but needs alot of improving, mostly being changing the maps from google as they are not very up to date and directions don’t always work (I’ve been caught in a dead end more than once using their directions).
