We will keep the serial protocol closed for now. Maybe we will open it in the near future.

Concerning the orders, we hope to know something more next week.

Hi,
I'd like to know if the serial protocol that the software you developed accepts will ever be explained or documented. I'm asking as I developed my own gps hardware and I'd like to use it on the iphone. If it's not likely... how long do you think it will take before you are re-accepting gps hardware orders?
Thank you for your time.

Sure to use our map software you will need the firmware 2.0 or greater. It is too complicated for us to develop one version for 1.1.4 and one other for 2.0. That's why we made this choice. Moreover most people will shortly upgrade to 2.0. o one advice: just update to 2.0.2, jailbreak is done and baseband unlock is also done for iPhone 2G firmware.

Pre-orders are not yet reopen as we have not decided yet when a new production run will occur. The software will not work with a hollux device connected to the iPhone, at least not until the software is not in beta or alpha state anymore.
